Phill’s Bar & Grill is a one stop shop for food, drinks, and entertainment in the small resort town of Chetek, Wisconsin. The name comes from a nickname given to the co-owner by his Dad. The owners came to me with a sketch for an idea of the logo they wanted. The drawing was of a person’s face and the word Phill but it was very complex so it would not translate well to a logo. The drawing had a cool element of a bottle cap flying off the “i” in Phill, so I ran with that. I took some of the stylings from the drawing and created the final logo. The color palette represents the love of the outdoors that both the owners and customers have. By using those colors and wood grain patterning on the products for the bar like can coolers, coasters, and business cards; the customers feel right at home.
